Inquiry-Based Learning Virtual Traveling Workshops
Our next couple of webinars will be on consecutive Fridays later this month. The first part of the free two-day workshop is Friday, March 19 from 1:00-4:00 pm ET. This will be followed by the second part of the workshop with IBL discussed for an online/remote environment on Friday, March 26 from 1:00-4:00 pm ET. Both workshops will be facilitated by Jon Oaks (Macomb Community College).
Description - Day #1:
This first day of the free two-day traveling workshop will provide an overview of the four pillars of IBL, a discussion on how you may already be using inquiry in your classes along with research supporting IBL. A demonstration of an IBL activity will be presented, as well as resources on where to find IBL activities that can be tried in your classes.
Description - Day #2:
In this continuation of the virtual traveling workshop, IBL will be discussed for an online/remote environment along with collaboration and interactive tools that can be used. The workshop will also cover converting a course to IBL, some of the challenges in doing so, and getting student buy-in.
